Softball program continues to improve as conference play now underway
Hill College’s softball program has continued to make great strides this season as the team enters the second half of the 2026 season looking to make a run in a stacked North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference.
The Rebels (16-16, 0-4 in conference) are coming off a tough conference series loss against McLennan Community College (also ranked No. 7 in the country). However, they took MCC to 11 innings before losing, 11-7, Saturday in Hillsboro.
The Rebels look to build off that McLennan Community College series by facing Weatherford College in an upcoming four-game series beginning Wednesday in Hillsboro.
Hill College is in one of the most competitive conferences in NJCAA Division I softball. Future conference opponents include No 8 Temple College as well as the current top-ranked team in the country, Grayson College.
Wednesday’s series opener against Weatherford College starts at 1 p.m. in Hillsboro, followed by the second game beginning around 3 p.m.
